Smart Unlimited Calls: 100 pesos for 5 days?

Smart Communications Inc. (SMART), the country’s leading wireless services provider, launched today a new service that enables SMART Buddy and SMART Gold subscribers to make unlimited calls to over 38 million mobile phone users on the SMART network.

Called Smartalk, the new service will be available starting June 26, does not require any changes in SIM or cell phone number, and can be enjoyed by SMART Buddy and SMART Gold subscribers.

SMART subscribers will be able to avail of the service by purchasing loads for unlimited calls which come in two denominations. The first is “Smartalk 100” which for P100 offers 5 days of unlimited calls to any subscriber on the SMART network anywhere in the country, at any time of the day.

Another variant, “Smartalk 500”, offers 30 days of unlimited calls to any subscriber on the SMART network for only P500 – effectively reducing the cost to as low as P17 for a whole day of unlimited calling to any number within the country’s largest mobile subscriber base.

“With this new service, SMART subscribers all over the country need only one phone, one SIM, and one number, to be able to make unlimited, crystal-clear calls to over 38 million SMART numbers anytime, anywhere,” said Orlando B. Vea, Chief Wireless Advisor of SMART, and also one of its founders.

“This is our way of helping out our subscribers in these difficult times and is our response to the government’s call for more affordable telecommunications services,” added Vea.

“This is the ultimate unlimited. Smartalk re-writes the rules in the way ‘unlimited’ mobile services are made available to Filipinos -- no other service offering provides unlimited, nationwide calling to a subscriber base as large as SMART’s, while assuring callers of crystal-clear signal quality anywhere in the country,” said Danilo Mojica, head of SMART’s wireless consumer division.

SMART Buddy prepaid subscribers may avail of Smartalk through registration. A subscriber just needs to send Talk100 to 6400 for a Smartalk 100 package, or Talk500 to 6400 for a Smartalk 500 load. The payment for the package bought will be automatically deducted from subscriber’s prepaid load, and they just need to have a P1 maintaining balance.

They can also buy these Smartalk packages as a load from any of over a million SMART Load retailers all over the country.

When making a call using the Smartalk unlimited package, SMART Buddy subscribers just need to dial *6400 plus the 11-digit subscriber number being called, eg., *640009181234567.

Subscribers of SMART Gold, the telco’s pioneering postpaid brand, may also stretch their monthly budget for mobile services by availing of Smartalk.

All SMART Gold subscribers from Plan 800 and up may avail of 30 days of unlimited calls to any number within the SMART network, with Smartalk 500. They just need to send Talk500 to 6400 to purchase the package, and the 500-peso charge will be billed on top of their monthly service fee (MSF).

SMART Gold subscribers can also purchase Smartalk 100 or Smartalk 500, from any of over a million SMART Load retailers all over the country. This is best for post-paid subscribers who prefer to stay within their MSF cap yet need to avail of unlimited calling service through the convenience of a prepaid package.

SMART is widely credited for having made mobile phone services much more affordable and accessible, when it introduced sachet-size packets of prepaid airtime through Smart Load. The electronic load platform has also enabled SMART to offer a wide variety of call and text packages that are specially designed to be affordable, and made available through a wide network of retailers present in every corner of the country.

“Over the years we have progressively lowered the costs of our services and designed our offers to truly meet the varying needs and purchasing power of our subscribers. By offering Smartalk -- a service that’s easy to understand, ubiquitous, and affordable – SMART once again transforms the playing field and offers real value to mobile subscribers,” Vea said.

Did you guys miss me? Anyway, since this website is all about online gaming, I figured quitting PW doesn't necessarily mean I'd quit here. So, I've decided to keep updating this website from time to time. I'd still include PW updates but mostly copy-pasted from the official PW Ph website and community board.

Who among you plays Magic:The Gathering? I started playing the game when I was in grade school and it was very very addictive. It still is. But with the financial crisis staring at us, only a handful of people can readily shell out 150 pesos for a booster pack, much less 10,000 pesos for a good 75 card deck.

So, is there a way to still enjoy the game without spending much? If you've got a decent internet connection, this is your answer.

Yes, there is. Its called Magic Workstation. The program allows players to play any Trading Card Game, Magic being the most popular. Other TCGs I've seen being played in it are Epic and WOW.

Ok, enough introduction. Let's go to Installation Instructions.

Play Magic: The Gathering on Magic Workstation

1. download this http://www.magicworkstation.com/download/mws094f.exe

This is the Evaluation Version. Almost everybody is using this. The Full Version has a few added benefits. But, we're not really after avatars and custom playmats.

2. Install the program

3. After the program has been installed, close it.

4. Download this file http://files.mwsdata.com/download/mtg_gamepack.exe

This is the database of all the magic cards. (Magic workstation is not only for magic. you can play any TCG using MWS. you just need to get the correct gamepack).

5. Install the gamepack.

6. Now open your magic workstation.

7. Let it load. Its got about a 10 second delay because it isnt a registered version.

8. Click ok.

9. In the menu bar, click VIEW

10. Select Deck Edit Mode.

11. You should now be able to see the list of all the cards from Alpha on the left side of the interface.

click the blue arrow button to add the card to your deck.
click green to add to your sideboard.
click red to remove from your deck.

12. Once the deck is complete (60 cards main, 0 to 15 sideboard), click GAME.

13. Select CONNECT TO OPPONENT.

14. You get a pop up. Click CALL.

That incident with that inconsiderate Perfect World GM is just too demoralizing. Ive decided to quit Perfect World indefinitely.

Im currently immersed in GodsWar online. The game seems cartoonish, but its the features and eye-friendly interface that are the x-factors to this game. You will want to give it a try. If you like PW and think that PW is a very very good game(like I thought, and I still do), then you have to play GodsWar. Just dont bring any hacks inside, alright?

If you do decide to play GW, then play in its 2nd server (Hades) and join the Spartan Poleis. (coz thats where I am, duh).

Here's a very brief intro to help you out in making a character.

There are only 2 poleis. The other one is Athens. Sparta (Awoo!!) and Athens are at war with each other. There are 4 different classes you can choose from. The Warrior (tanker), the Champion (Melee Damager), the Priest (Healer), and the Mage (the magic damager).

And that's it for the intro. haha. Told you it would be very brief.

The Shen Wu Valley Patch last March 5 yielded a new daily quest for the inhabitants of Pangu. Thanks to some of the generous people of heaven who have been trying other versions of Perfect World, we have some information on the quest.

The Quest NPC is at the center of Dragon City. Right now, its name is chinese, (and for those with no east asia language installed, its name is in boxes), and basically everything he says cannot be understood. Just click on the quest provided, wait for 1 hour, and get your reward, or rewards, since you get 2 items.

There are 3 options to choose from. Every option yields one WANTED-look-alike item, and a 30 minute charm that gives boost to some of your stats.

The interesting (and frustrating) thing is that the WANTED-look-alike item is used to acquire a very rare ring. Rare because apparently, only 150 of each ring will be made available. If you choose the first reward, the ring adds boost to Strength and Constitution. The second ring gives boost to Intelligence, and the last one gives boost to dexterity.

Too bad I only learned about this on the 3rd day of ShenWu. Im 2 mats behind. Oh well, 87 days and counting.

Whatever happened to the PSP? The device that Sony once touted as "the Walkman for the 21st century" is fast disappearing from popular consciousness, and if you believe the rumors circulating just three-and-a-half years after its launch, it's up for a major rethink in 2009.

Over the crucial month of November, the Nintendo DS shifted a jaw-dropping 1.5 million units in the US alone (up 20% from last year) while the PSP languished, managing just 421,000 sales -- actually down 27%, in what was in general a tremendously strong month for video games.

Even the software support is eroding. Despite the PSP's healthy install base of around 13 million consumers, only six 2008 PSP releases scored better than 80% on review aggregating site gamerankings.com, compared with 16 on the DS. There's a good reason for that: nobody's making PSP games, because outside of one or two hits like this year's Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, nobody's buying them. That's only going to worsen when the superheavyweight Grand Theft Auto series (previously exclusive to the PSP on handhelds) releases its first DS title early next year.

In a lot of ways, it's a shame. The PSP is a far more capable hardware platform than the DS. It's a phone, a portable music player, a pocket-sized movie device, a mobile web browser, and when paired with a Playstation 3, a remarkably capable remote control for the system, capable of streaming music and movies from a PS3 over the Internet to wherever you happen to be.

Next to it, the DS looks like a product of another age. It's barely capable of 3D, let alone delivering a suite of mobile applications of the PSP's caliber. Not, in fact, unlike the contrast between the Playstation 3 (modern, immensely powerful, and pricey) and the Wii (underpowered, basic, and cheap.) Oh, and phenomenally successful. The parallels you can draw between Sony and Nintendo's offerings go deep.

ut then, set the PSP next to the iPhone or iPod Touch, the year's other big winner in portable gaming, and the PSP's hardware design suddenly looks old hat. Where's the touchscreen? What are all these buttons for? What on earth is the point of this useless analog nub of a joystick? And why, in an age when flash memory is so cheap it practically comes in Cheerios boxes, are we still stuck with a huge, bulky, slow, and noisy optical drive? If you're going to compete by offering a powerful hardware platform, you actually need to outperform the competition. As the iPhone steps into the portable gaming ring, it's already got the PSP on the ropes.

Guess what, Sony: Apple already made the Walkman of the 21st century, and you missed the boat.

2008: Online Games Help Cut Down I Cafe Game Piracy

One thing good that happened during the past year for the Cyber Gaming Industry was that Internet Cafes were able to cut down on use of pirated games. All thanks to the Online Gaming Publishers of the country. What am I talking about?

1. Warcraft 3 - Although not officially, I was able to talk to AMDG and they have expressed that they are no longer going after I Cafes that use pirated Warcraft 3. They are now focusing on their MMORPG Lineage 2.

2. CounterStrike - Counterstrike softwares are also under AMDG, but thanks to mygame.ph's First Person Shooter Game Special Force, I Cafes no longer have to install counterstrike/half life in their units.

3. Need For Speed - Big Thanks to Level Up Games for bringing in Crazy Kart. One thing about cafe goers is that they fancy competition with peers rather than with the CPU.

4. Casual Games - Bookworm, Textwist, Mystery Case files no longer need to be installed on computers. Truth is, they have been available on yahoo games for some years now. Also, in case you still do not know it, Level Up Games has partnered with Casual Games Provider "Be There" that has dozens of casual games available.

This 2009, we are expecting the coming of NBA Street Online. Hopefully, it can be a good replacement for the NBA Live and NBA 2k Series.

2008 ends with Heaven on The Tiger Map occupying two territories. Entering 2009, Heaven is only one of two pioneer clans of Perfect World that owns a piece of the Tiger map. That is something all the members of Heaven should be proud of. We've been through tough times, through countless war defeats, yet the bond that molds us together has proven to be very strong. This is something no other clan can take away from us.

Rohan Online May Be Delayed

I just got information from a source (from LevelUp Games) that Rohan Online may not make it this year. They are now targeting January as the release date.

And I'm not surprised. I could see that coming ever since the Zhu Xian Online Press Conference.

Oh Well. The reason has got to be Zhu Xian Online's Open Beta Launch, which is, not coincidentally, slated for January as well.

I wouldnt label my source as reliable, though. But hey, the source is someone inside Level Up Games.

Play Any Version of Warcraft 3

When playing Garena, you might find the hassle of looking for opponents who have the same version of warcraft 3 you are using. You cant play with/against players whose Warcraft 3 Versions arent similar to yours.

So here's a nifty little tool to solve that problem. What it does is it enables you to switch to any of 3 versions with just a few clicks.

Click on the 1st icon: Switch Version.
Double Click to Select the version you want to use.
Click on Frozen Throne Icon to launch game.

Havent tested it yet. But my friends have. They say the download even includes a maphack, haha.

Heaven's Weakness in Wars

3 Lands in 3 weeks, but that is expected. What happens next week though is the gauge to Heaven's strength in Territorial Wars...and before we begin the Post-TW Ranting, I might as well reveal Heaven's secret weakness in TW. Its a secret coz Heaven doesnt know about it...but everyone else does (seriously). I mean, every worthy opponent we faced managed to see it.

So, whats the weakness?

The lack of adjustments in the game plan. The game plan is to pounce and pounce and pounce, not bearing in mind that the opponents have tacticians who think during battle.

At first, the middle lane belongs to us. We bring down towers almost unstoppably. The enemy adjusts so that the hole Heaven created in the middle is taken care of. The problem is that Heaven attacks this adjustment thinking "Heaven is a basketball pro againts a triple team." But even basketball pros need to make adjustments if they are to win.

Congratulations on the 3 lands, and may Heaven's grace fall on us in the upcoming territorial wars.

Supreme Destiny to say GoodBye first

No matter how e-games denies it, e-games was formed with the goal of eliminating the number 1 gaming publisher in the country, LU Games. Well, it turns out, they were just lucky with Ran Online. Supreme Destiny is closing. Nostale will not sell. Zhu Xian is just too messy (blame the community for that). Audition is desperately coping with HighStreet5. Granado Espada is Ningas Kugon. Cabal Online plays balimbing with botters, and most gamers dont even know battlestation and o2jam anymore.

Im predicting by next year, all these games save Ran wont be bringing much income to e-games anymore. Hopefully Pandora Saga and NBA Street Online have learned the mistakes the publisher has made.

Rohan Website and Community Boards are Now Up

I was right!!! That teaser message talking about something dark coming this November 25 is the Rohan Website.

Also, the RohanPh boards are now up and I can see some activity there. 2 famous guilds are already there, Holy Order and SGX. No need for introductions when it comes to Holy Order. SGX, meanwhile, for some of you who do not know, is a group of professional gamers from Rohan International. So expect the most exciting rivalry between these two. But who knows, maybe Heaven will rule Rohan?

Perfect World the Movie???

Actually, the film’s title at the moment is Perfect Sophie (originally dubbed as The Revenge of Sophie or Sophie’s Revenge). But, yes, the upcoming movie is the result of a joint investment between China-based online games developer and operator Perfect World Co. Ltd. and Korean film outfit CJ Entertainment.

And who will appear in this Perfect World movie? Why, two of the hottest Chinese stars ever to grace the silver screen: the sultry Zhang Ziyi and the versatile Fan Bingbing. Of the two, however, Zhang Ziyi’s name stands out more because of her appearance in some Hollywood-produced movies, including Rush Hour 2 alongside Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, and Memoirs of a Geisha.

Well, that’s all we have for now. The film, after all, is still in the pre-production phase, with only a few names and a very vague plot description appearing here and there. Stay tuned for more new on the movie!

It cant be closed beta just yet. Unless Level Up is trying to mimic what e-games did to nostale (haha). I'm guessing the Rohan Website perhaps?

Zhu Xian vs PW Part 3

A few days of CBT and we finally have the player's side on this battle for customers between Perfect World and Zhu Xian Online. Going to the forums of both games, you'll see threads comparing one to the other.

Perfect World forumers say that in the PW forums, people defend PW, and in the Zhu Xian Forums, people defend Zhu Xian, which is whats naturally expected.

But hey, look at the polls on the Zhu Xian Boards.

The poll (and the thread) is closed now, probably because the results are not exactly what the forum/game owners hoped for.

Not only is that thread closed. The Forum Moderators are locking every thread where Zhu Xian is compared to other games, most of the time Perfect World. See, thats what happens when the Mods and the GMs and the CMs dont know how to speak a language flawlessly. The gamers who can talk fluently get discouraged from joining. And in the end, you have no one to defend your product but guys who dont really fancy forums, and if they dont like forums, then the forums is won by the opponent.

The way the CMs and GMs of Zhu Xian talk creates a sort of wannabee-ish image. Id prefer GMs talk in Filipino than pretend to be good in English. Hey, even Tag-lish would be acceptable.

As we near the yuletide month and the coming of the new year, there are lots in store for Perfect World Players. Here are a few of them...

1. The coming of the new lottery box is sure to excite a lot of people (no matter how much they dont like the items they can get from these boxes). Better Stack up on gold.

2. There will be 2 new mounts that will be sold separately in the item mall. I really wish Perfect World brings back the monthly horse race since these mounts dont really mean much without it.

3. Samhok confirms that the Lost Foreigner will be coming back. So better start farming herbs. We're still not sure yet though if the alien guy will still collect the same type of pills it collected in the previous 2 events.

4. Raijunta also confirms that they will be implementing one of the events suggested in the EVENT SUGGESTION thread. Finally, I thought that thread belonged to a museum already.

5. GM Tristan hints at a big event coming up for PW as well. Meishen also informs us that there will be a surprise announcement coming up on November 24.

Perfect World vs Zhu Xian Part 2

The day has arrived. Zhu Xian has officially opened its servers...to some.

Back when Zhu Xian was rumored to be coming to the Philippines, expectations were high for the game. This is a 2nd chance to many players of Perfect World, a chance to re-live Perfect World but under new management.

Unfortunately, from that time to this day, many disappointments arose. The character customization and the channel system are just the tip of the iceberg, so to say.

Right now, my thoughts say that the arrival of Zhu Xian is good for Perfect World. It polishes the management and how they handle the game. That item mall sale is just too irresistible. The presence of CMs in the PW Boards is being felt now.

Not only does it refine the management, it also refines the population of the game. Believe it or not, the population of Zhu Xian Online will very much differ with the population of Perfect World. and I can tell you this. One game wants their CMs to speak English intelligently, the other game want their CMs to speak English (crooked or not, but most of the time crooked).

Alright, enough of that. Lets go to status reports.

Zhu Xian gave out advanced passes to a few people. Good of Bad? Bad. If Zhu Xian's features and gameplay have similarities to Perfect World, there are a number of features available inside the game that PEOPLE WITH NO ADVANCED PASSES will not be given chance to discover for themselves. Like the Ingot Trading Feature?

Zhu Xian experienced Errors when they opened the servers. Good or Bad? Bad. But this was expected.

Perfect World just had their first Territorial War Week. Good or Bad? Good. How can you leave Perfect World now that you have a piece of the map? Especially if you dont have an advanced pass. (Hey, conspiracy theory insertion here. Perfect World decided to delay the 1st territorial wars week to coincide with ZX's First Week. Good Job for the marketing. Bad for the ethical department).

Perfect World will feature new items in the item mall come November 24. That's a big knockout to Zhu Xian from Perfect World if you ask me.

Aion: Concurrent Players Exceeded 100,000 On The Very Day

Aion: The Tower of Eternity, a highly anticipated MMORPG developed by NCsoft launched Open Beta in the early morning of November 11th, 2008 local time in South Korea, and the concurrent players exceeded 100,000 on the very day.

At the time of server open, numerous players flooded into Aion at the same time.Most of the 16 servers became full immediately and NCsoft added 5 servers to accommodate more players. Though currently there are totally 21 servers running, due to overwhelming influx of players, some may players encounter server connection and character creation problems.

Concerning the business model for Aion, NCsoft stated again that Aion will be using subscription model and they expected to bring the game into commercial service before December. NCsoft said that the monthly fee will be lower than the other titles of the company and for the convenience of players, they will be offering multiple payment options.

Early January of 2008, I had to relinquish the master position of Heaven Clan. If ever Heaven was to succeed, sacrifices had to be made. Unfortunately, the example wasnt ingested very well.

Because to this day, there are officers of the clan who look after their personal interests first over the strengthening of the clan.

I don't know if the rumors are true regarding HOL transacting illegally to boost their fames and ranks, but the fact is, HOL is strong because whatever they do, they are united. What one knows, he shares. That's where strength is found. That is where unity is found.

The topic at the PW Boards regarding heavenly books sheds light that there are still officers that cater to themselves and not to the clan.

Just imagine going against a clan where all of them have books and less than 10 members of heaven are wearing them.

Keeping vital information to yourself is bad for the clan, much worse knowingly giving false information.

Officers, better live up to your role or relinquish it. Your talents in PVP and TW and even your levels are just a fraction of your responsibility to your clan.

Ice Bound Land goes to Heaven

Finally, the first week of territorial wars after the Phoenix Council Wars is over. When the dust settled, Heaven is the new owner of Ice Bound Land. Congratulations are of course in order, but complacence must not be overlooked. This victory is expected. Its what happens in the next 2 weeks that will determine how good Heaven has evolved.

Heads Up. Better Stack up on Gold!!!

As you may all know, there will be a new lottery/rat box on November 24. (Thats why I was having that feeling LU once again did not fully apply the patch last time. Otherwise, they wouldnt have anything to counter the hype ZX would generate).

So, friendly advise? Stack up on Gold right now. Remember how the price of gold soared up the day the rat box went on sale? Expect the same to happen. If you're planning to load up your PW Account, better save it for the 24th. Coz on that day, the price of gold will exceed 2000 yuan again. Hurray for Level Up!!!

Nostale in the Philippines

That's a surprise. Nostale is now available to Pinoy Gamers. The server is still the global one though, so expect some highbie players already inside the game once you're done downloading and registering.

NosTale is a free-to-play Fantasy Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) developed and published by the Korean company, Entwell Co., Ltd. It was first released in Korea in 2006. NosTale has currently been translated into Japanese, Chinese, German, Italian, English and French.

Gameplay

NosTale means "The Tale of Nomads of Silver Spirit". The game features typical MMORPG elements, such as chatting, questing, training, partying, setting up player shops and contains most of the elements that other MMORPGs has. Some of the features of the game include Manhwa-style art, ability to select occupations after reaching a certain level, and ability to transform into a "Specialist" form using cards and points. The tale speaks of the adventurers of the continent of Eastmile.

Classes

Swordsman

Swordsmen have the highest Health Points (HP) and the lowest MP usage. They are the masters of the sword and strongest in close combat. The advantage for warriors are strong attacks and critical strikes.

Archers

Archers have a balance of HP and MP. Their specialty is using the bow and arrow. Archers' strength lies in ranged-attacks and tactics such as hit-and-run, but arrows can run out, leaving them to rely on close-combat skills that are inferior to those of the Swordsman. Archers' have the highest critical hit ratio among all the other classes.

Sorcerers

Sorcerers use magic and avoid physical combat. They have low HP, but a high MP. Their specialty is using a staff and excels in magic. The advantage of this class is that they have the ability to heal themselves using the skill Aura of Healing, but if they run out of MP they are more vulnerable than other classes.

Specialist Cards

Players progress from a generic "Adventurer" class to pick from three different classes: Swordsman, Archer and Sorcerer. Each of the classes may make use of a "Specialist Card" either a global one such as the Chicken Card or a specific one to each class, such as the Warrior Card for the Swordsman. When using these cards, the player transforms into a specialized class with its own unique skill set. All Specialist Cards (Except Chicken) are obtained from a quest.

Player start off with 10000 SP every day, known as Basic SP. If there is any SP remaining in the Basic SP, 10% of that shall be added to the Additional SP bar on recharge. All classes have four main Specialist Cards, one for each element: Light, Dark, Fire and Water.

* Pajama - The Pajama card is a gift obtained from the Pajama Fairy after satisfying his every need. You can wear it , when you are joblevel 10

* Chicken - This specialist card is a random reward for completing the Chicken Raid.
* JajaMaru - Most Jajamaru attack skills are fire based, so a fire fairy can really assist in the damage the player can put out. They are most use in the chicken and najamaru raid.
* Warrior -1st Specialist of swordsman. Warrior Specialist excels in supporting a party, as well as throwing around some really powerful AoE's and nasty negative status effects at the enemy.
* Blade -2nd Specialist of swordsman. Blade Specialists excels in excellent sword skills and speed. They are fast and have some fierce skills that make them shine in PvP with their Blade Protection that allows them to absorb any attack and deliver this damage plus their own against the target. Water Element
* Crusader - 3rd Specialist of Swordsman, They have nice party buffs and the strongest level 20 skills in game. Light Element, uses Crossbow
* Berserker - 4th Specialist of Swordsman, They possess nice Single Target skills and a pretty nasty AOE skills. Dark element, uses Pole Arm
* Ranger -1st Specialist of Archer. Rangers are built for soloing or as distance attackers. With quick speed and long ranged attacks as well as single buffs, they're also good in partying. Water Element, uses Bow.
* Assassin -2nd Specialist of Archer. Assassin Specialists excels in speed and stealth which also makes them shine in PvP with their Tumble that allows them to absorb any attack and deliver this damage plus their own against the target. Their main weapon is dagger. Dark Element
* Destroyer - 3rd Specialist of Archer, uses guns and traps, they are good for mobbing and have many attacking skills with the power of Fire Element.
* Wild Keeper - 4th Specialist of Archer, they use the power of nature and spirits to empower themselves and their party. Also, they have many AOE attacking skills and use boomerangs with Light Element.
* Red Mage -1st Specialist of Mage. The Red Mage Specialists excel in casting fire spells from the side lines, as well as throwing around some really powerful AoE's at enemies. Fire Element, uses Orb
* Holy Mage -2nd Specialist of Mage. Holy Mage Specialists excels in mostly healing and support. Uses buffs and healing with the power of Light Element.
* Blue Mage - 3rd Specialist of Mage, They have many freezing/Blackout Skills and nice, powerful Aoe skills. Water Element, uses Orb
* Dark Gunner - 4th Specialist of Mage, They have some of the most powerful HP DoT (Damage Over Time) Debuffs and decent attacking skills that include some other nasty debuffs. Dark Element, uses Spellgun (Can still be used even if a spellgun is not present).

FEATURES

Story Quest

Nostale offers a story line driven quest system, which players can follow through, known in game as the Main Quest. This story line is divided into Acts. As the player progresses through the story line, they will eventually go from Act 1-X to Act 2-X and so on, where X stands for a number of scenarios within that Act. The story is driven by the Quests players undertake for characters according to the story line.

There are are currently 4 Acts.

Act 1: The Tree of Fernon

Act 2: The Resurrection of the Devils

Act 3: The Arrival of the Super Risky Creature

Act 4: The Frozen Crown

Pets & Nosmates

Nostale features a companion system. Every adventurer can have up to two companions to help with quests. The player can control both companions. The first companion is a Pet. Pets are usually animals or monsters that can be found in NosTale world. Besides having a pet, the adventurer in NosTale can obtain a Nosmate which is formerly an NPC. Nosmates can be equipped with weapons and armor. To get rid of a pet, you must buy a pet collector from the food market person.

Raids

Players can also participate in raids in Nostale. Raids can be formed up to 15 players. A seal is necessary to start a raid. The team must successfully traverse the Raid 'map' by clearing all the objectives. The culmination of the Raid is to fight with a Boss monster. A successful raid will reward the player with a chest which gives a random reward.

The raids are:

- Chicken King Raid

- Namaju Raid

- Ginseng Raid

- Dark Castra Raid

- Big Slade Raid

- Flame Raid

- Jack Spider Raid

- Jelly Raid

Special Raids:

- Snowman Raid

- Grasslin Raid

Mini Land

Nostale allow players to have their own Mini Land: a place where they can decorate with objects such as a house, lamp posts, trees, etc. It is also where the players' Warehouse are located. Friends can visit any player's Mini Land. There are four Mini Games that can be played in Mini Lands. Mini Games reward players according to the score they obtain and use up some of the player's Production points. These points are recharged every day. For every reward the player chooses, independent of its level, players lose 100 Production points. In this fashion Mini Games also lose from its Durability when a reward is taken. Owners of a Mini game must pay gold or buy coupons from the virtual shop to recharge said durability. Owners may also "harvest" rewards from the Mini Games equal to the level the player chose. All Mini Games have upgraded versions which yield better and more rarer rewards. All rewards are material based, in other words used to create/fashion other objects. Then through recipes, Nostale offers ways for players with the afore mentioned materials, gathered from loot, Mini Games or TS treasure boxes, to create things such as boots, weapons, upgraded Mini Games, special potions, etc.

Time Stones

Time Stones are missions within the game that can be done by a player and his or her party privately. There are level requirements for each Time Stone and they are needed to progress in the game's story. Each mission has a time limit for the players to complete it in. Players may receive the basic reward(s) that are obtained by chance by clicking on one of the chests (automatically if it is only one reward), a Special Award (obtainable once), and a Bonus Reward. Depending on how well players do on the mission and the amount of time that is left, the players score will increase, and they can achieve a "record" on the Timestone for other players to beat (The player's name and score are listed in the upper right hand corner.)

Player versus Player

Player versus Player combat:

* Using a battle potion - The player can PvP anyone anywhere if he drinks the potion.
* Time Circle - This is a time limited form of PvP. Restrictions are set upon the player.
* Icebreakers - These are timed PvP events that players can join.
* Private Infinite Arena - This arena is located in a special map which allows a player to fight another player with the cost of 100 gold per death in order to revive. A Protective area is located in the middle for fair play.
* Family Infinite Arena - Equivalent to the Private Infinite Arena, but here families (guilds) can fight with each other, a family member cannot attack a member from the same family, other than that it is just like a normal arena.
* Rainbow Crystal Battle - Two Heads/Deputies of a family (guild) use an Application for Conquest, and apply at Time Circle. These Battles are scheduled every 3 hours, for the duration of 30 minutes. It is similar to capture the flag. However there are a total of 7 posts which can be acquired.

Land of Death

Land of Death is a feature that can be used by any Family member when a Family's head is Level 60+. The gate to the Land of Death is located at Sunset Cliff Edge (Twilight Cliff) in Mt. Krem. This feature features a conbat system where a family takes on lvl 70+ demons located in the Land of Death. Many uncommon to rare items may bedropped by the demons. A special item is the Fountain of Savior, which can revive a player to full health in the Land of Death. There is a time limit of a total of 200 minutes (3 hours and 20 minutes). A family memmber can only enter the gate in the interval of the first hour (60 minutes). By the time the timer hits 139 minutes, the gate will close and the Chase of Dark Horn will start. Dark horn will appear anywhere and will roam around the area every five minutes for 1 minute. It is not required to kill Dark Horn, just to avoid him and his attacks. If you get killed by Dark Horn, you can be revived with the Fountain of savior, but if you do not have any Fountain of Savior in your inventory and you get killed by either Dark Horn or a Demon, you will be sent back outside and are unable to re-enter the Land of Death. The Gate of landof Death re-opens every 8 hours (eg: Opens at 11:00 am Pacific Time, closes at 12:00 pm and re-opens at 7:00 pm).

First Look at Zhu Xian Online

After Downloading the game in 3 hours time, I decided to install the game and look at the log-in interface. Turns out, I'd get more.

I actually logged in to the game! Here's what we have so far

1. Zhu Xian Online will have Server Channels. Bad news, I think. If I know one thing, this game will most often than not need players to find their friends. How are you going to recruit guildmates (or get recruited to a good guild) if you go by channels. Eventually, every serious gamers of Zhu Xian will probably stay in one channel (You'll need a healers and tankers for a number of quests not to mention instanced dungeons). Otherwise, its early boredom for ZX.

2. Checked the tailor when I logged in last night. You can craft equipments. The good news is that I did not see the craftable Materials you need for craft leveling (and wealth gain). Still, that was just the starting village, so we cant be sure if those mats are available at higher level NPCs.

3. The beginner mobs dont drop anything at all. Ok, so I'm exaggerating. But out of 7 boars I killed, only 2 of them dropped something. Bad News. Pinoy gamers love Free to Play games, but these games need to make sure the characters can survive without the gamers spending a cent (of real money).

4. The mounts are cute, lols. Not cool, Cute.

5. Zhu Xian Online's client is named elementclient.exe...Very Bad news. Because I know of another game client with the very same name and it was so Cheat-prone.

6. There's no gameguard/game protector visibly running looking at the task manager. So its either built in or it just doesnt exist.

7. There was a marquee/scrolling message last night. It said "awooooooooooo!!!" I'll leave the impression for this on your brains.

8. There's no double jump.

9. If you copy paste the game directory to another pc, the mouse pointers wont work in game.

Insecurity maybe an issue in Zhu Xian

I've been hanging out at the Zhu Xian Forums for a while now, eager to wait for the coming of Zhu Xian online, as well as to keep updated with anything regarding the game.

One thing I see is that their forums need polishing very badly. I dont see a report abuse button, just one thread where forumers more often than not report a thread rather than a user.

Nonetheless, this can all be taken care of come zhu xian time. Hopefully, they get good community managers.

But insecurity, that's one big problem. Why insecurity? Who's insecure? Not many actually, but since Zhu Xian online is an evolved version of Perfect World, then Perfect World players have the advantage here. That's alright to casual gamers, and I know E-games has lots of them. But for the wannabee hardcore e-gamers, they have in their minds that Perfect World players are going to trample on them in this game.

I wish I could say otherwise, but do I expect this to happen. If you are not under the banner of a Perfect World player, you wont be doing pretty well.

Sigh, if only Perfect World considered my suggestion of making a new server....

I'm scratching my head with Tantra 2

I really dont see the reason for this move by AmpedGames. Of all the mouth-watering games available in the market, they had to pick Tantra 2.

1. Now, I don't know about you but if I do not like a part 1, I won't be sold into buying part 2, right? I played Ragnarok, didnt like it, and I'm pretty sure I will not play Ragna 2 as well.

2. Whether I try the game or not, it's still Tantra. So it's really nothing new.

3. With Beta Testing scheduled before the end of this year, the competition with a lot of NEW games is just too crazy. It may be alright if Tantra 2 was introduced at a time where no other new games would come out, but Zhu Xian, Rohan, Exteel, and many more? Come on now!!! You're breaking my leg.

4. And with new Online Games coming, you dont expect ALL OF the Tantra 1 players to go for Tantra 2. Tantra 1 players will be divided into Rohan Players, Zhu Xian Players, Tantra 2 Players and Players who decide to stay behind. So for a prediction, the population of Tantra 2 will only be 25 to 30 percent of the population of Tantra 1.

5. Tantra 1 failed in creating hype (which is the secret ingredient to a successful game in the Philippines). By the looks of it, Tantra 2 is performing worse in this category. I don't even have a website to see some previews. Aaargh!!!

NBA Street Online coming this year?

Audition Fighting Back very creatively

If you remove the publishers out of the equation, HighStreet5 kicks Audition's *** very very good. I still am very amazed at the idea that gameplay and game features do not have patents or intellectual property right issues, but oh well.

But online gaming is a business and competitions are battle of marketing departments. So we cant take publishers out of the equation..And I really, really like how e-games are handling audition vs hs5.

E-games has acquired the services of Quik Load Station. I dont have much information regarding this agency but for now, they are in charge of creating ideas to sell (or resell) audition online to Pinoy Gamers. Their target: Cafe Owners.

The result of their brainstorming, the birth of the Audition Cafe Club. Now, it seems every gaming company is now taking into consideration the importance of cafe owners and have even in fact created organizations for them. Mobius has Cafe of Choice Program, MYGAMES has MYGAME Cafe Community, LU has LUCC and Yahoo I Cafe, the list will go on.

Im pretty sure a resourceful cafe owner is a member of a number of them and more, but seriously, they dont get much from these organizations/portals. MYGAME may be an exception since they do have an active forum (but I hear the admins of the forums are not that approachable).

The cool thing about Audition Cafe Club is that Cafe Owners do have privileges here. Lots and lots of privileges. Right now, ACC has a site with blogger, and there, Cafe Owners can get lots of income and marketing opportunities for their own business.

If you're an I Cafe Owner, you may want to read this, courtesy of ACC.

1. Send I-Cafe details to E-Games. There's a special email address for this program that E-Games will be releasing upon launching in a few weeks (Nov. 24 launch confirmed).
2. Receive a special Audition account and set up your Club. This pre-generated character will be fully decked out head to toe for you to show off to players. E-Games will also be giving you a monthly IN-GAME allowance so you can attract more players by giving away low-cost in-game items. Use this allowance wisely; you can attract players to your shop by giving away IN-GAME stuff, bling up your character to show off, or squander it aimlessly.

Aion Online Open Beta in Korea begins on Nov. 11

Ok. With Zhu Xian coming late November and Rohan coming in December, I guess the tag of war for players between Level Up and E-games is inevitable. But hold your horses, both of you, we got a new player on the horizon. Aion Online.

In case you do not know, Aion Online is pegged by hard core gamers as THE MMORPG. MMOSITE.com describes it as "the most visually beautiful MMORPG ever made"

Aion Online has been on Closed Beta Testing in Korea ever since Oct 31, 2007 (Now thats what you call game development). After more than a year of closed beta testing, NCSoft announces Open Beta set for November 11.

If I were to describe what I saw in the game, I cant. You need to see it for yourself.

Plans for a western version of the game are underway, but for now, subscribers are willing to pay the monthly fee of $14.99 for the Korean Version.

GM Tristan posted this on his blog site. Its a game trailer for Rohan Online. Honestly speaking, I have a good feeling with the game's gameplay. But I have a bad feeling on its effect on Perfect World. That Migration Package for Khan Players has been haunting me ever since LU made the announcement on Rohan.

Reset and Compensation

This topic is probably the hottest topic right now in the PWPh forums. The sad thing about this topic being hot is that either the forumers and CMs are being held back due to forum rules or that some forumers just dont have a clue to whats really happening, giving us with a very very passionate topic with lots of key ingredients missing.

First of all, it was never about the storyline. Forumers have repeatedly mentioned the reasons why its not and basically its these two.

1. The Moon Valley triggered the wipe out, but moon valley has come and pooof, the wipeout is delayed. I bet if the techies of LU wanted to, they can restore the map to pre-phoenix council wars right now.
2. Since the CMs have been hinting long long ago of the wipeout, it would have been useless to implement the peace patch.

Ok. So why implement the peace patch? Everybody knows the answer. Its because there are lots of small clans, and Perfect World wants to give them a chance. Everybody knows this. Everybody..regardless if they want compensation or not. We all agree that the reset is geared towards igniting the flame of excitement and bringing back hype to this good game.

So, should the dominant clans be compensated? I would be heartless to say they shouldnt be. They deserve to be compensated. If they made PW TW their life, then their efforts must be rewarded. I get the point of everyone in the forums who vote yes to the compensation.

However, if compensation is to be given, it would miss the very reason for the reset. Remember, you reset the map to encourage the small clans to play perfect world again. We want the community to be lively again. Bring back old faces who have grown bored because the big clans are preventing them from gaining a piece of the map.

Perfect World is only as good as the number of players playing the game. Without players, the game will be forced to shut down. Lets face it. Although its just a game, its business. And businesses will only survive so long as there are adequate number of customers.

What am I getting at? Sylv from the forums said "adapt or die". He actually bullseyed that one. No, Im not talking about "Kung ayaw mo, mag quit ka" Im talking about "If you love PW and want to make sure it survives for a few more years so that you can play it, then accept the reset unconditionally". Before the reset, the small clans would have bailed out of PW immediately upon hearing of the news of Perfect World 3 coming up. Right now, I'd say they're thinking twice before coming up with a decision. If they know that Clan G or E or H members are getting 50m yuan each as compensation, what do you think would happen? They'll leave. They'll go to Perfect World 3, leaving the perfect world servers drained. All that will be left behind are the clans that got their compensation, and inevitably, LU will shut down PW.

So, adapt of die. Your choice.

I really wanted to post scans of the mag here but I may be violating copyright issues.
A week ago, Zhu Xian Online began to promote its hype at SM Pampanga. Based from a few friends there (who play Perfect World), they are very much surprised and excited to find out that another game identical to Perfect World is coming out. Yeh, I know. Thats what I felt when I first heard the news too. and Im still feeling it now.

Meanwhile, why not grab a copy of the latest issue of GAMES! Magazine. (Hey, isnt one popular figure from PW a contributor to the mag?). In it, you can drool on what the game has to offer. And for a devilish chuckle, you can flip the magazine to the back cover, and voila, you see Perfect World. Nice huh??? bwahahaha.

Errr, Dont I need to charge advertisement fee for this???

Burning Phoenix Event : My thoughts

As the deadline for the event looms near (thats 11:59pm tonight), I want to tell you my thoughts on this event.

Obviously, the event was to re-ignite the fire of excitement for Frost City. I guess the developers didnt give as much towards this patch. There just arent much eye candy inside frost city to attract players' attentions, and to top it off, it takes time to craft one basic equipment.

The loss of hype for frost city is just to obvious that no one noticed or even knew there was an easy way around the event without having to go against the rules and mechanics. I even cleared it with CM SamHok, and still, no one bothered to notice.

Back when Frost City was new, I was one of the first (in fact, I think I was the first) to complete the jade quest. And that quest wasnt a walk in the park. It took lots and lots of time inside solo mode just to complete all the 7 jades. And with this event, my efforts paid off. I knew exactly where the burning phoenix was in solo mode. (Look the mechanics again. There was no saying you had to complete it in campaign mode).

So, I created a party of 5 (Would have been 6. But the less there are in the party, the less chances the secret would come out). We maneuvered through the halls of the instanced dungeon and in no time were we facing the Burning Phoenix, or so we thought. It turns out the name of this burning phoenix is Nine Black Winds. I tried to recall if this was its name when I used to explore frost city months ago. I think it was burning phoenix back then, but I could not be sure.

Thanks to akyll who took all the effort of finishing the campaign quest. It turns out, even the burning phoenix of campaign mode got its name changed to nine black winds.

Yeah, well, as the event comes to its closing period, I guess you could actually count with your fingers, the number of people that got excited with frost city again. Sigh. Hate to say this, but what a waste. I did have fun though.

All thats left now is to confirm that my entry is valid, but I see no reason for it not to.

Sigh and Yipee!!! Still no Jungle Relic

Confirmed. Jungle Relic is still disabled with this patch. If I remember right, it was the loss of the jungle relic event that really sparked many players to abandon their characters and try other games, Cabal being the obvious choice that time.

The day Moon Valley was patched, a forumer asked whether Jungle Relic is back. I dont like it when the Community Managers ignore these kinds of questions just because the answer is disappointing. It just adds another reason to leave the game. Perhaps no one is really paying attention to this, but this can surely be used by upcoming games from other companies.

Whether we like it or not, people (especially gamers) are becoming more and more active in internet fora and pretty soon, the success of online games will be defined by it. After all, online games are designed to be a form of interactivity between people via a virtual world. Without interaction, a game is just a piece of junk.

Alright, thats that. Im hoping the CMs start changing. Right now, im more interested with the effects of the "No Jungle Relic just yet." Thanks to the 300 gold rat, intepid badges arent that rare anymore. Rank 6 weapons will pretty soon be paraded at UC and DC. But while Intrepid Badges are that accessible now, Badge of skills arent. Without the Jungle Relic, there would still be a shortage of EOJs and of course, badge of skills. Thats why you see vendors selling them at 5 million a piece.

Anyway, Im predicting around a thousand players to attain rank 6 before the rat is taken off the item mall. If this prediction turns out to be true, then those who are holding on to their Badge of Skills better hold on to them for just a little bit longer. The price of those badges could skyrocket to as high as a hundred million yuan a piece.

And i got a number of them..yipee!!

Site Fixed!!! Fix to the image not showing in IE.

The problem with loving Firefox as your browser is that when you decide to build a website, you have the tendency to ignore its compatibility with other browsers. I learned that lesson last night. I didnt know the header image wasnt showing in IE. I had to look at the problem the whole night and I just found it this morning.

In case you experience the same problem, I'm sharing the solution.

The problem was that the header image was fine in firefox, but it wasnt showing in internet explorer. Looking through the code, the problem was this part

Notice the part between the URL of the background and the no-repeat portion. There is no space. One hit of the space bar and voila. Problem fixed

With the wipe out inevitable and the War of the Jade Throne requiring smart planning, what is to be expected?

If all clans play smart, then the following are safe predictions

1. Sky Lake will be the most highly contested piece of territory. Why? Obviously, its the only territory where clan members can craft immune pills. Expect all the dominant clans to hyper-bid this land. Hey, maybe they dont have to. If they all have 200 million yuan tucked somewhere, they can just race one another for the first to drop 200m right after Xia Bao announces the opening of the bidding phase. Good Luck, guys.

2. Extension and Dummy Clans will get to have lands, and for most of them, for the very first time. I'm hearing Guardians will let loose 4 clans on opening night, so thats a guaranteed 5 lands on the first week if they bid right.

3. The 2nd to 3rd week of Territorial Wars will showcase the dominant clans invading the less stronger clans. Perfect World needs to do something about this very very badly. Im expecting an event right after clans lose their territories. I just dont know what type of event.

4. The 5th week, the major clans will want to have a feel of their enemy clans. The first major clan vs major clan battle will happen here.

5. The 6th week is the start of the battle of outbids...and thats pretty much by then.

Plus, there's the fact that you see quitters selling their accounts everyday over the world chat (and even vending them at UC, for crying out loud).

So, we might as well inform everyone, especially our clanmates what games are coming up in the near future that Heaven may want to try out. Hey, dont forget to build our clan in those games, guys!!!

Perfect World vs Zhu Xian Part 1

Finally, moon valley arrives, together with the zhu xian counter-strategy. But did everything go well according to Level Up's plan? We hypothesized the major clans quitting being an acceptable risk to LU. And so far, we see that happenning. A number of players from major clans have already expressed their plan to quit.

See, there is one part of our theory that I forgot to mention. If major clans do crumble and quit, the next game they are likely to try is Zhu Xian Online. It is, after all, Perfect World 3. If that does happen, then the dominators of Perfect World will likely dominate Zhu Xian Online, which in turn is expected to discourage the many, minor clans from trying out Zhu Xian. "Dami na malalakas diyan. Wag na natin laruin."

So, for that plan, everything is going smoothly.

Whats the problem now for Level Up? The problem they need to address now is that Perfect World isnt attracting new players, and with Zhu Xian on their heels, the chances of getting a considerable number of new players is becoming less and less likely. The moon valley patch does not solve this, since the patch is for high level players.

We all know that hype dictates the success of online games published in the Philippines. You play what your friends in the internet cafe play. Perfect World is beginning to need that hype very very badly.

Territory Wipeout, A Counter Strategy

Weeks before the closed beta testing of Zhu Xian, Perfect World begins its first counter strategy. In case you are still uninformed, zhu xian online is the 3rd installation of perfect world. The version we have is PW 2. (Finally, everything is clear. PWPh is older).

So, why the wipe-out? I've been browsing the zx ph forum site recently, and I see Hyper Angels decided on converting to the new game. and the way I see it, the territory wipe out is a good means to stop other clans (there are many, including heaven), from doing the same.

Thats a brilliant strategy, actually. The fact that there will be an item mall sale when the patch arrives just proves my theory. The idea is to 1. give territories to almost all the small clans, 2. make everyone spend their money because of the sale.

But, as pw forumers have already expressed, ganun din ang resulta nya. In the end, the major clans will dominate the server map. But, what's changed by then? 1. if zhu xian = pw, then mahirap nang makahabol pa sa mga nauna, then by the time na nakuha na ulet ng major clans ang mga lupa sa pw, may major clans na rin sa zhu xian, thereby discouraging the players who lost their lands in pw to try zhu xian. 2. because of the item mall sale, wala na rin pambili ng gamit sa zhu xian, pagtapos na ang sale.

Zhu Xian Online of Perfect World Co. will be published by E-games, Philippines. Closed Beta Testing is scheduled on November. Open Beta will follow on December.

Solution to the DDS patching problem

1. Stop your patching.

2. Locate your Pw Directory

3. Inside the directory, locate the elements folder and open it.

4. Inside, locate the info folder and open it.

5. The folder contains dds and text files. Delete them all. (Or cut and paste them into a backup directory if youre in doubt about this solution).

6. Once everything inside the info folder is deleted, resume patching.

You are not getting stuck downloading the updated dds. You are getting stucked with the UPDATER REVIEWING YOUR OLD DDS Files. So its better to tell the updater TO STOP REVIEWING YOUR DDS FILES COZ YOU DONT HAVE THEM and it will just download them for you.

Perfect World is an epic game. It is perhaps the best (and the only TRUE) role playing game in the country. If you're new to the game, don't be fooled by its FREE TO PLAY FOREVER advertisement. You see, the developers of the game are creative and business-minded geniuses. They made it in such a way that the features (and there are so many) are lovable enough to make you reach your wallet -or your parents'- and top up.

Now, instead of whining about having an unfair advantage when it comes to the yuan wars, why not try one or two of these yuan earning strategies.

1. Hunt and Sell - The idea is to hunt for common item drops that sells for a big amount. Good examples would be blunt claws (12-15k) and elemental crystals (13-18k). Blunt claws are dropped by blood wolf at the north of orchid temple. Elemental crystals are dropped by Turning New Leaf at the Victory Plain. What you do is to kill these monsters, harvest their drops, and sell it at good prices.

Of course, you need to consider your level here since the drop rate decreases as your level goes up. Most players who adopt this strategy will let themselves be killed until their exp goes back to 0 percent.

Investment - HP, MP pots, Pilots

2. Buy and Sell - Setup a store. Determine the items that players need the most. Buy them at a cheap price, sell them at a larger price. There are 2 types.

MINI BUY AND SELL - these items costs less than 1m yuan.

Immortal Stones - buy 35k sell 45k
Fragments - buy 1k each (collect 25 pieces, convert to 1 immortal stone and sell at 45k)
Celestial Stones - buy 2k each (collect the 6 needed pieces, convert and sell 45k)
Bronze Tokens - buy 10k each sell 15k each
Silver Tokens - buy 100k each sell 150k each
Blunt Claws - buy 5k each sell 10k each

MAJOR BUY AND SELL - these items costs more than a million. I used to do this. It earned me 30m in 4 days.

Silver Mane / Purple Lightning - buy 7m sell 10m
Leopard/Polar - buy 1.2m sell 1.7m

Investment - 3 to 10m yuan

3. Mold Hunt - Craft 2 wines (preferably TG, Heaven or Hell). Invite your party members, tell them this is a mold hunt. MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A TRUSTWORTHY REPUTATION. Tell them that this is free for all. All the molds will be handled by you. You will sell all the molds dropped. When a mold has been sold, you will subtract 600k yuan in exchange for the wine, and then divide the remaining money EQUALLY amongst yourselves.

For example. You have a party of 4. You acquired a Mold of Lin Yun's Ring. You sell it for 17m. Subtract 600k and divide the remaining 16.4m amongst yourselves. Thats 4.1m each (for a mere investment of 2 wines which you have reimbursed, a few HP pots, and a few minutes, wow!!!).

4. In-game events - many whine about PW being a game that ONLY Takes YUANS away. This is untrue. If you participate in the in-game regular events, you can earn a few millions per week.

Horse race - Emblems costs 30k each. Tickets cost 100k each.

Saturday Treasure Seizing - Courage emblems cost AT LEAST 60k each. Each mob killed will drop at least 10k yuan. And the bosses (there are many), drops immos (45k) and high level soul stones.

Sunday Jungle Relic - Skill emblems costs around 100k each. You also get immos and high level soul stones. You can also sell speed pills here. And im not even mentioning how much the main prize is worth here.

Monday Dark Beast City - Courage emblems costs at least 200k each. All soul stones dropped are at least level 5. There are so many immortal stones. And who knows how much those arcadia volumes are worth when they get activated?

Tuesday Dragon Palace - Swimwears are an automatic 2k (at least) each. Badges cost 150k each. And how about them pet manuals?

5. Ingot Craft Trading - For this to work, the exchange rate must be 1200 each. Buy gold at 1200 each. Use the gold to buy materials to craft precision gold (ironsmith), yarn (tailor), or Jing'ang wood (craftsman). Sell these items back to the NPC. For every 1k gold - thanks rinko - will net you 100k profit, and the good news is, you've earned exp, wow!!!! about 2 to 3 percent per 10k gold spent.

6. Bulk Megaphones and Body Doubles - You all know that when you buy 10 mega or BD, you get it for the price of 9. So buy these items in bulk and sell them individually. Thats 10 percent profit for you.

The Cabal is Coming

Im an internet cafe owner and i get all excited when a major gaming company decides to bring in a new game.

Hah!!! I still remember the time when 4 games were being ushered in and my hands were so full trying to get my hands of the complete installer of each before each game opens. The games were Granado Espada, Lineage 2, Perfect World and Warrock. We managed to get everything installed on -all their- day 1s, wow...That was quite an achievement.

I played them all myself. Believe it or not, all my predictions of their outcome came true. You see, as a cafe owner, you have to prioritize on games you need to install on your limited hard drive space. At the first 15 minutes of playing GE, i knew right there and then, it wasnt going to flourish to pinoys. Sorry, e-games..

Next comes Lineage 2. I predicted it will fare well. In case no one has noticed it yet, us pinoys dont like to overburden our eyes with high end graphics that GE is providing. Good graphics, yes...but too good??? Nah ah!!!

Further, contrary to the notion that E-games Ran online is competing with LUs Perfect World, the fact is that Ran Online is competing with AMDGs Lineage 2. Why is that?? That because they have the same gameplay....GRIND GRIND GRIND!!!

Next we tackle warrock....my prediction was that its going to end up like Fear...Huh? Whats that??? Yeh, thats what im talking about...lols. Theres just too many FPS out there (offline and online) for warrock to make a name in the gaming industry.

Now, for PW. I remember during the OBT launch of PW, ran online had a 3x event (or was it 4x). Here's an eye opener. The target consumers of PW is totally different from the target consumers of ran. LU may deny it, but, it isnt LU thats laying down who they want to play their game. Its actually the game itself. What im saying is PW can never encourage a grinder and Ran Online will never recruit a Role Player.

So now, the Cabal is coming. What is it offering? From what i hear, its a PW with less features but better graphics.

Prediction??? It will never attract anyone who really likes RAN and Lineage 2. Cabal Online will be the ONLY threat to PW. If it beats Cabal, then PW will be the only one of its kind game in the Philippines. Feature wise, i know PW can knockdown Cabal. It will be LUs fault if they lose to the Cabal's coming.

The ****ING Moon KEY!!!!

NOTE: This article was written becoz im beginning to grow tired of repeatedly answering questions of what the moon key is for....grrrrr!!!!

To save everyone (or just myself) the horror of typing and retyping every tuesday at around 9 pm, i'm going to - try to - make a simple explanation of what the WATER MOON KEY is.

As you may already know, the Dragon Palace Event is held every Tuesday from 8 pm to 12 30 am (not sure about the end time but im sure im close). Most players would go inside hoping to dig boxes that would reward them with swimwear thats right now selling at a decent price. (A bra has an average selling price of 5 million yuan).

There are dozens of possible items that can be dug from the boxes. Swimwears, Pet Skill Manuals, Town Portal Sticks, Emblem of Patience, Immortal Stones. All items' uses are known to everyone except for the subject of this topic - the water moon key.

Now, unknown to many, the dragon palace event isnt just about avoiding monsters and digging boxes. Jiao Linger, the NPC inside the palace, is providing a quest that could net you 100k to 500k experience. Here are the details

Dragon Seal Quest

1. Before entering the event, make sure to bring with you a Silver Dragon Token (yes, the ones you get from DSQs).

2. Talk to Jiao Linger (Use the NPC Locator to find this Mermaid NPC). And select the Dragon Seal Quest. The Silver Dragon Token will disappear from your inventory. Kung walang token, walang quest.

3. Check your quest log. You need to go to 8 different places.

4. Using your NPC locator, go to the 8 spots mentioned and click on the pillars located in those places. This could get rather messy as the translations for the quest log isnt 100 percent similar to the ones in the NPC locator.. I suggest you use a notepad to jot down places you have already gone to via the npc locator.

5. When finished, you will then be asked to find an item....THE MOON KEY. Either rely on your luck on digging one, or find someone selling the item. Here's a friendly advise. "Maraming nakakaalam na mawawala lang yung moon key paglabas nang palace. Bilhin mo sa kanila nang 50k to 100k yuan. Pero kung desperado ka, shout mo na buying ka moon key at 200k, may sasagot na sayo."

6. Now, once you acquire a moon key, you have a decision to make...You Need to choose....In other words, Banker offers 100k exp, DEAL OR NO DEAL. If you feel contented with 100k exp reward, go back to Jao Linger and submit your quest. If you want more exp (and if you think you can keep going), then go to step 7.

7. Using the NPC Locator, Go to DRAGON SEAL. Thats the place with a whirlpool and a big iguana looking boss with a dozen sirens. In the middle of the place is the dragon seal tablet. If you manage to dig it (Good luck), then you must be very good. Go back to Jiao Linger and receive 500k exp (Im not sure if this is the correct figure. Ill be updating this once i confirm it to be wrong).

Now, if someone else asks you what the fu****g moon key is for, refer this site to them. Youll save yourself a lot of time explaining, you get a thank you from them, and from me.....

Emblems and the sage's untranslated quest

As of this post, there are 6 known emblems. Let us enumerate them and where they come from

Emblem of Speed - Horse Race Daily Event, 12 30 pm and 9 30 pm
Emblem of Power - Arena Treasure Seizing Event, Saturdays 7 pm

The emblems right now are used to gain soul (or primordial spirits) which are needed to gain skill points.

But with the level 100 already breached, let us expect the last emblem to get unlocked and be attainable and finally allowing us to see what the seven sage NPC has to give. You see, that NPC has an untranslated quest that goes like this:

"When you are level 90 and have reached rank 6 or reputation points (fame) of 36000, you may exchange your emblems for any of the 7 holy instuments coveted by many. i.e. the invincible sword, the country's rifle, the champion's fist, the enemy's hammer, the Monk's stick, the Mystic Law sword, and Pangu's Crossbow"

Note: The translations are a little bit inaccurate but hey, thats more than enough to get you hyped to get that 36k fame, right?

The problem with updating blogs is that you have lots of ideas you want to express but just don't know where to start. Lucky for me today i happen to find a rather interesting one.

I was chatting with my clan when the word ENVY was used. At the same time, I was browsing the PW forums when i found a thread with super-amazing wallpapers of perfect world. What a perfect time for the two instances to occur.

Just look at the pics and you'll understand what envy means...The artist is Makino from Clan legacy. (Sana may mga screenies din tayong ganito...haayys)

A little guide to getting the wallpaper screenshot before editing it with photoshop.

1. Hide the names and symbols of nearby players. To do this, look at your hp bar. There are 4 buttons on top of it. The second button (with a silhouette of a man's heads and shoulders)should be turned off.

2. Position the camera view by pressing F9. Directional arrows will appear when you do this and you can adjust the camera by playing with these arrows.

3. When you have your desired angle, hit ALT+H

4. Click Print Screen

5. Voila!! Your screenshots should be saved in your PW directory. (PW/Element/screenshots)

Dexter's PW-tory

I know i could have come up with a better title. But this post was lifted from the international PW forums. And the following comes generously from a very great guy with the user name Dexter. Whoever you are, bro, thanks a lot....

Dexter provides us with super tips on how to get the edge in important aspects of the game. So without further ado,

1. Good equips/weapons:

Five ways to have good equipments and weapons. (I wonder if there are more in Chinese version)
(1). Creat them at NPC in any towns. The best items you can have are 3* items with/without slot(s) and opt(s). (Also you can kill bosses in ranking quest to get these items). Requirements: materials, craft level.

(2). Creat them at Dusk furnaces in Dusk Palace/Dragon Town. Requirements: materials.

(3). Creat them at Golden furnaces in Dragon Town. You will receive Golden items. Requirements: mould, materials, craft level.

Usually 3rd>2rd>1st (">" = better items).

(4). Buy them at special NPC when you reach speacial army ranks (SAR). SAR requirements: level & glory point (GP). There are 8 SARs in my server.
+ SAR #1: lv 30, GP 300
+ SAR #2: lv 40, GP 1000
+ SAR #3: lv 50, GP 2500
+ SAR #4: lv 60, GP 5000
+ SAR #5: lv 70, GP 10.000
+ SAR #6: lv 80, GP 35.000
+ SAR #7: lv 90, GP 100.000
+ SAR #8: lv 100, GP 200.000

GP is more difficult to farm than Exp. As i know, there're 4 ways to farm GP:
- Kill boss in ranking/challenge quests.
- Do repeatable quest called "Kill monsters alone". Arcoding to your level, you will have to kill 20/40/60.... mobs for 1/2/3 GP. You don't get exp reward for this quest, only GP.
- Do repeatable quest called "reward & punishment" to get Exp + GP.
- Use some special items to gain GP. The items you can get by killing normal mobs (the chance to get is very low) and the items you can get by killing special mobs called "spiritless mobs" and "mob corps"( :P don't know how to call them) (the chance is high).

The first and fourth way will give you more GP than others. Since i don't usually do both, my GP is only about 6K at lvl 9x ). Several weeks ago, i saw one player with SAR #6 standard ring: Physical/Magical atk: +85, Crit +2%, Casting time -3%, +120 HP. I think the highest GP player in my server now is about 50K-60K. They said that the equipments you can buy at SAR #7, 8 are extremely powerful. Hell, when will i reach 10K GP??? =))

(5). Exchage a number of bronze/silver/goden medals you get in doing "search for dragon" quest for golden moulds. If you're a rich man, i can tell you the fastest way to up a level is doing "search for dragon" quest. This quest have 10 steps. Each steps requires you talk to a NPC and may be you have to give him some materials or kill a number of mobs (you can choose to pay him money instead of killing mobs). The amout of Exp is pretty cool ). The billionare in my server (because he has billions of gold ^^) do this quest all the time. With huge number of materials he bought, he can finish this quest in approx 10-15'. Well, he is the first player in PW-VN reach level 100. :D

Some materials you can get by killing mobs, the others you can have by digging ore, root...ect. Especially, materials in the second way only can found by killing mobs/bosses in Dusk Palace. And to have moulds, you must kill bosses in challange quests or ranking quests.

2. Higher chance to get materials from mobs/bosses:

- Keep this in mind: the further the difference between your level and mobs/bosses' is, the lower the probability you can get materials/moulds from them.

- Acording to Vi Tieu Bao, if you kill mobs with skill which is incompatible with mobs, you'll have higher chance to get better items from mobs. For example, use Earth skill to finish Water mobs; use Wood skill to finish Earth mobs...

- There isn't any official way to get higher % but i have some notes for you to refer. Just check by yourself, i myself am not sure whether they work or not but i usually use them each time go hunting for materials or molds.

When the bosses nearly die, finish them with these notes:
+ Use highest "Limit Break" and strongest skills to finish them. Please make sure finish them in "Limit Break" effect time.

+ If bosses have level (don't laugh, because there're bosses don't show their level), only member of party whose level nearest to bosses' will be the one finish them.

+ If bosses don't have level (there's a "(?)" at the level text), the member who has highest dmg or highest level will be the one finish them. These bosses you can find in dusk palace.

- Another hint to get molds more frequently (made by Xiaoloui88)
+ lure boss as far as possible from it's spawn place (lure to dungeon boss is highest chance to drop ) = =

+ let the lowest lv team member last hit on boss, more chance to drop mold. ( highest chance if u using lv1 char...)

- And another (made by iver27)
what we do to have a higher drop rates from dungeon bosses.. let the party leader be the last hitter

3. Some tips in battle:

Two main types of attack:
+(a) physical atk: long-range(i), close combat(ii).
+(b) magical atk.

- Tankers (werebeast, swordsman) always have low magic resist. When you have to kill mobs having (a)+(b) (i.e, they have both physical and magical atk), if you just run toward them before attacking, 100% their first attack is (b) which always damages you seriously. You can do as follow to have a chance (about 40-60%) to avoid this first (b). First, fly high so that they can't see you and approach them. Now land next to them (never land in front of them, just on the right, left or back). Then their first atk will be (a). This tip is very useful in case two (or more) mobs stand next to each other, if you just run toward them, all of them will use (b) for the first atk. ^^!

- Mobs have (a) + (i) will be reduced their damage to 50% if you use close combat with them (the same to our wing archer :D). And their action i hate the most is when you try to approach them, they will run away and atk, run and atk.... T_T; (always three times). You can use the tip above and have chance to avoid their running. Remember 4 steps: fly, approach, land and attack. Especially, some mobs have (a) + (i) will not run away if you stand next to them before attacking (100%).

- For werebeast only: while in tiger form, you can use a skill named "Angry attack" to disrupt the target's skill being in process. Use this then you can disrupt mobs' (b).

- Chars having (b) (mages, priest) always have low defense. So when you do quests that require to kill mobs (a), you should find a party. If you can't find one, it can be problem of HP:D. Mages have a skill can push mobs back, so use it when mobs come close. Priests don't have a skill like that, but they have buff skill incresing defense. In that case, you can use necklace and amulet temporarily that increse defense (just buy normal ones from NPC with very cheap price, keep them in your inventory). With them and your buff skill, your defense will increase considerably. At high level, pri/mage/werefox can use light/heavy armor for more defense but lower magic resist. Consider it by yourself.

4. Gain EXP/SP/GP (Glory point) faster:

- There're many ways to gain EXP but few ways to gain GP. To gain GP, you must do quests. Here i'll tell you a popular way to gain both of them faster.

Usually, at level x9 you will receive ranking quests (appear in golden text). At last step of those quests, you will receive "tokens". Use them to lead a party (just solo if you can, lolz) to go into a cave and kill bosses there to finish your quest. Two notes:

+ Mobs and bosses in caves are very strong. Imagine you are at level 19 and have to face mobs which have HP and defense of lv 5x mobs and damage of lv 3x-4x mobs. And you know bosses are always much stronger than mobs T_T;. So you must have a party to do ranking quests.

+ Just one member of party have tokens then others can have the same quests. It means all members except the one with tokens will gain the same a considerable number of EXP and EP when party accomplish the quests. (actually, the one with tokens will gain 1/2 number of EXP & EP compare to others).

That's the point. When you're at higher level (6x, 7x, 8x....), you and your friends set up a strong party and go helping someone do ranking quests. Because of your high level, you can accomplish those quests in short time. just after 5-10 mins, you gain a considerable number of EXP & EP.

- Kinda a silly tip but if you find your skills are not working well for you, die a couple times. When you die, you only lose exp and not SP so you can use this chance to level up your skills so that they will match your level. The best time to die is as soon as you level up when your exp is near 0%.(made by meow)

5. Upgrade items with higher chance of success:

i. 9 rules:
- (*)Best time for upgrading is from 4 AM to 9 AM (of course this is in-game time).
- Your computer must be stable with high speed connection.
- (*)Do upgrade when no one around.
- Before upgrading, you should relog game or restart computer.
- After each time upgrading, close upgrade dialog before doing next upgrade.
- If first upgrading is successful, you can do upgrade to next level. If not, wait til tomorrow.
- If first upgrading is failure, wait for 1 minute and do upgrade with 5th-level items or lower level items. Keep doing this until success then do upgrade with your items.
- Before upgrading shout "Buddha Amitabha" and kowtow 3 times, beg 9 times.(lolz)

(*): I tested those hints and i think they're ok, event in case of crafting items.

ii. Special NPC:
- If your guild own an area. Your guild chief will have income per week and the land lord (NPC) of this area will serve members of guild as a master with some special services including: make special support pills and give you better chance of success in upgrading equips at certain level. This is the list of NPCs in diffirent areas and certain level of equips they can help to increase chance of upgrading success. Here i list the cordinate of land lords in areas because maybe you all can be confused if i translate area name into English. Some areas Vi Tieu Bao did not mention yet, sure i will update later when i have time talking to him.

Some nonsense stuff Vi Tieu Bao talked about.I tested some and update here for all who wanna try them, lolz.
- "Today, druggist at xxx town get drunk and he only sell goods at half price". lolz, i tried about 4 times and had to pay at full price.

- "Right now, if you do craft items at NPC xxx, you will have chance to show yourself" (???). I tried but nothing happened. ^^

6. Hidden repeatable quest:

Actually it's not hidden, but almost no one is patient enough to get it. After hundreds of time talking with Vi Tieu Bao, the quest symbol above his head will disappear, you will receive a quest that tells you to go talking to a NPC and get 3K exp ). After finish this quest, the quest symbol above VTB will appear again then you can talk with him hudreds of time before get your new 3K exp =)). Sometimes he will tell you: "Yeah, i like young boy having an inquiring mind" and give you 10K Gold. ^^;

7. Some notes about PK:

- PW-Malay version does not have an option to turn off PK Mode. It is generally a good idea to click the shield icon and uncheck the last 2 options. That ways, if someone is trying to PK you, you can have the option to attack that person back. If you wait until someone is PKing you already to uncheck the options, you may be dead before you ever get in your first hit. (made by meow)

- The higher the PK level you have, the bigger chance of dropping items/equipments when you get killed by other players. Because of this rule, you will be good target for everyone if your name is red/dark red, especially when you have good equipments (in PW, everyone can see others' equipments). We call it "Kill red" to hunt equipments.

- If your name is red or dark red, you can be killed by NPC who are town guards (always stand at town gates). You can also fight back and kill them. Your PK level won't change if you kill NPC. But be careful, guards of towns locating at place at which mobs are strong are very strong ^^, you can be killed easily by them. If you are red/dark red, best way to go in town is flying :D.

A Walk Through the Jungle

Sundays, minutes before 3 pm, youll see wolf cubs crowded with popular and not so popular players. Theyre preparing to go inside the jungle ruins.

3 Possible Goals

1. Finish the quest while there are a few people to get in their way.
2. Be the One to get the jungle relic.
3. Get loads of treasure from the treasure chests scattered in different rooms across the maze.

The minute one steps inside that map, you need to have one goal in your mind, and one goal only. Which of the 3 above is to your choice. But heres a few tips..

The timer for the quest starts only when you get the quest. The best time actually to get the quest from "the man seeking for treasures" is not when the event has just started, but when the event is two thirds done. This is the point when most players have given up hope of finishing the quest and eventually leaves the map.

If your goal if the jungle relic, then youd have to resist all temptations of stopping by a treasure chest and attempt opening it. Coz by the time the chest is opened, Digilex's name would already be announced.

If your goal are the treasure chests, then go for them.

Now that were done with goal setting, lets go through tips on how to pass by rooms.

1. No matter how many pasaways are running and gunning for the next exit, stay patient and wait for the mobs to get back to their formation. Do not move from your spot until you are very sure of this.
2. The mini map is your only friend here. (Unless youre a girl mounting a jungle relic skilled yao shou in tiger form). Make sure to turn the monster view on with the mini map. Youll be able to see the monsters position, distance and speed even if your settings are set to minimum.
3. You are not going to get the full 300k+ exp in this event. Youll have to keep that in mind. So dont make haste just because the exp reward has dipped down to 200k. Based on my experience, getting an exp reward of at least 150k is already praise worthy in this event. If youre patient enough, youll get higher than this. if you dont have patience, youll keep dying and dying and losing more exp rewards.
4. There are rooms where there are more than one passageways, most of them lead to blocked hidden rooms. The point here is...you can use these rooms as safe grounds while waiting for the mob to pass by and move away.
5. While opening a chest, always track the mobs. If you feel that you cant open the chest in time before the monsters first (and lethal) blow, hit the escape button quickly.
6. The shortest way is not usually the safest way. There are times when you have to make revolutions around the room just to get to the exit.
7. buffs, heal, pots are totally worthless here. youll just be wasting them, and wasting time.
8. If you see people you know have been to the last room many times, then follow them. Observe their maneuvering.

I was hoping to post walkthroughs for different rooms, but i dont have enough screenshots. If you follow the tips above though, then you could probably get more than this.

Yao Jings Lure RULES!!!

Now that I'm midway to the max level, I miss the times when Instanced Dungeons were done with teamwork. Most of the time id give commands like "stay left, lure, focus fire, focus heal" but right now its all about bash, bash and more bashing!!!

There are times when i isolate myself from the clan (chat), and when i do, i sometimes find time to look for newbies wanting to explore the hidden secrets within instanced dungeons. Kinda makes you feel nostalgic. Many things have happened to the clan and friends have come and gone, some of them getting kicked personally by me. And these kinds of times when i see level 19 to 3o-ish heroes reminds me of good times and makes me love the game more.

But enough of that, im here to write something useful and heres a small guide for Yao Jings out there who do not know how important they really are.

Roles are pretty straightforward with the other Characters. Yao Shous tank and damages, Wu Xias do more damage, Wu Xias and Yu Mangs catalyzes damage via nukes and the all powerful Yu Lings heal. But what about our dear friend summoners.

If you havent noticed by now, megaphones are used a number of times to call out to Yu Lings and Yao Jings. The Yu Ling's role is known to all. But the Yao Jing...aaaahhh, if not for Yao Jings, the Yu Ling's Life will be in great danger.

Coz Yao Jings are the only official Lurers of the Game. Unlike the next door F2P Game, Luring in PW requires skill, Yao Jing Skill.

Enough with the sales pitch, lets go to the step by step.

1. In a group of mobs (lets say 5), pick a mob to lure. Lets call him Tim. Remember, it is Tim and Tim alone that we want to lure. Not the other 4. If the other 4 follows Tim, the luring is flawed and the Yao Jing needs more practice.
2. Send the pet (and im talking to a yao jing now) to Tim and have the pet attempt ONE shot on Tim. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU ATTEMPT ONLY ONE SHOT. COZ IF THE PET RELEASES MORE THAN ONE SHOT, THEN YOURE VERY CLOSE TO FAILURE.
3. Right at the spot where the pet is hitting (or attempting to hit) Tim, dismiss the pet. The pet should disappear and NOT walk back towards you. Again, the pet should not walk back towards you. It shouldnt be making any further steps at all.
4. Voila, Tim should be heading straight for you, with no other companions.

This shouldnt take 30 minutes to master. Otherwise, you should go find another character or your doomed to fail in PW.

Perfect World In Game Events

Aside from impressing you with its array of quests, hou renxis, wei xiabaos and crafting, Perfect World has a number of events in store for your daily euphoria. Here are the list of known ones. I shall be updating when i find out more.

WEI XIABAOs SOULLESS ATTACKS

About 4 to 5 times everyday, the lonely prince shouts out regarding a group of soulless attacking a village. He calls out to heroes wanting to save the village from the impending doom (as if the npcs arent immune to damages). The problem with Wei Xiabao is that he's a half liar. There are places he would announce being attacked by soulless monsters that are really arent. We only know that Orchid Village and Eremites are two of these. I have no idea if there are others.

Rewards: depending on the village you get a large dose of DSQ items ranging from elemental powders to precious diamonds. Further, some monsters drop uncommon to rare items like ghost soldier passes, token of soulless expeditions, and celestial stones. The real excitement comes from killing the commander and looting up his/her drops. The commander spawns twice. At the start of the event and midway through the event.

SNAKE ISLAND HORSE RACE

This happens twice everyday. Anyone who can ride a mount (horse, leopard, polar bear) is eligible to enter. But you may only join once everyday. Time of events are 1230pm and 930pm. To join, get to the wolf cub a few minutes before the race starts.

The mechanics are simple. Make 3 laps around the island. The first 5 to complete 3 laps and open one of the treasure chests wins. The path though, is rigged with elements trying to slow you down (sometimes making you stop for a few seconds). You need to dodge these things in order to make your journey smooth. And since there are elements to slow you down, there are also elements to make you fast (for about 3 seconds). If you see a pink crystal dont dodge it. Walk through it and you get a burst of speed for a few seconds. Also, if you keep following the arrows, theres a random chance you would also be given this boost.

REWARDS: Anyone who finishes the quest receives an emblem of speed (which can be traded for 2k souls). Theres also a little exp reward for finishing the quest. Of course, the winners get a little more. Aside from the emblem and the exp reward, they get a ticket for the monthly horse race plus they get their names announced for winning in the race.

TREASURE SEIZING

The event happens inside the Arena of all 4 major cities(Beast, Feather, Sword and Dragon City) every Saturday 7 pm. At the strike of 7, the arena is filled with treasure chests waiting to be opened. Open the boxes and you can get anything from refined oils to level 8 soul stones. But some boxes contain monsters with lots and lots of HP. The good thing about these monsters is that YOU ARE IMMUNE TO THEIR ATTACKS. So while it takes a lot of time taking them down, you can be sure that you will not get killed by them.

Here are the catches:

First, anyone can loot the drops. Those big monsters drops about 30 items when they die (about 5 immortal stones, 15 celestial stones, 3 emblem of power, and some soul stones). And even though you were the only one to lay damage on him, anyone can get his drops.

Second, no can can drop anything inside the arena. Once inside the bag, it can never touch the arena floor. Either consume the item or get out and drop them. So be sure to have lots of baggage space available before entering.

Third, and the most important of all. The arena is a PK Area. Even though you have set your settings to NON-PK mode, anyone can PK you or can be PK-ed by you. To attack someone, just hold "control" simultaneously with the skills you want to use against the player.

By the way, if you die, THERE IS NO EXP LOSS. so enjoy killing and getting killed.

REWARDS: Emblem of Power, Celestial Stones, Immortal Stones, Level 3 to 8 soul stones.

JUNGLE RELIC

This happens every Sunday at 3pm. Im not sure, but i think the level requirement is 40 and above. This is a 3 hour event. To join, go to the wolf cub when the event starts and enter the jungle ruins.

There are actually 2 parts to this event. And they are completely unrelated to the other.

The main part (if we base it in a perfect world environment) is of course, getting the quest from the man seeking for treasures, and finishing the quest by getting to the second NPC at the farthest room.

If you finish the quest quickly, you get a massive amount of exp. You start at 300k+ exp reward and as the time winds down, the exp reward is decreased until it settles at 16k exp and a few souls. This is a very tricky (but exciting) event. You need to pass by rooms guarded by monsters, and not just any ordinary monsters. These monsters are immune to any attacks. Further, their strikes are VERY LETHAL. HP Pots are useless here. Healing yourself is useless here. There are no uses for buffs here (except for those that increases your speed). If you get killed, dont ask for heals or pots. Go on with the game. Doesnt matter if you have full HP bar or a single point of HP, these monsters kill you with 1 hit.

The event is all about evasion, stealth, and speed. But most of all, its all about skill.

And like i said, there is another part in this event; the search for the jungle relic. This part is completely unrelated to the first part - there is no NPC you need for this. There is no quest for this. Heres how it goes: Aside from monsters swarming the rooms of the jungle ruins, there are also treasure boxes. These boxes contain really, really good items: Emblem of Skill that gives you 4k soul, immortal stones, and theres a better chance of getting high level soul stones here than any other event. In the farthest room, the box contains the jungle relic. If you are the one who manages to open it, then you will have just given yourself a mold for a holy necklace. Further, your name gets to be announced and youll have bragging rights for at least a day.

REWARD: Loads of EXP and SOUL, Immortal Stones, Emblem of Skill, Mold, Soul stones.

Thats all there is for now. But there are lots more to be discovered. Till then, see you in-game.

Hades Ox King: AUTISTIC

Of all the mini bosses in the game. the Hades Ox King is one of the few who does not require a Yu Ling in the party. At first, i though it was a bug but it really wasnt. You see, the first time i saw this guy, he wasnt moving. Even if there were about 3 or 4 characters shooting at him, he wasnt moving. How do you manage to do that?

The secret lies with the Yao Jing over him. In order for you to make this boss autistic, you need a Yao Jing with a flying pet. Heres a detailed guide.

1. Assemble a party with a Yao Jing controlling a flying pet.
2. When you get to the ox's location, look for other parties who may also want to kill the boss.
3. Talk with these parties and ask them not to mingle with your turn. This is very important as this can otherwise provoke the Ox king to wake up from his hypnosis.
4. When all is settled, have the Yao Jing fly over the Ox King.
5. Take out the flying pet and send it directly over the King's Head. It has to be over, being careful to make sure that the boss does not see the pet. At eye level, you better prepare your pets graveyard (or your resu spell for that matter).
6. VOILA. The Hades Ox King is rendered autistic. Because hes a melee type of guy, he wont hurt the Yao Jing. And because the pet is really close to him, he wont regen.
7. Partymates with lower levels than the Yao Jing can use normal attack on the Ox king. The rest can just sit down, and wait for the ox king to fade away. Or have a little fun and take screenshots right beside the daydreaming boss.

Dragon Seeking Quests

Dragon Seeking Quests/Missions or DSQs as we simple put it are the most boring quests ingame. Perhaps its because it has a hint of the Old Online Game you use to play where you are required to grind, grind, grind, loot and grind some more. It consumes a lot of time, a lot of yuans (you have to use the teleport service about a dozen times), and a lot of your self esteem. The good end is that you get a really good amount of exp and soul reward and a dragon token which can get you good items later on.

Your first DSQ appears at level 21, as a system message notifies you of such quest. The quest is titled Facing Ones Fear. You will be asked to proceed to novice village. And no, novice village cant be found on the map. It simply means the village where all novices are born.

Wu Xia and Fa Shih - PengCheng Inn

Yao Shou and Yao Jing - NorthPass Camp

Go to the village and talk to the Dragon Seeking Emissary.

Beside the DSQ Emissary is the Token Envoy. He is the NPC where you exchange your tokens for rewards.

Heaven: Peaceful and Pure

In the beginning there was only formless chaos of energy. For 18 thousand years, all the energy began to be collected to a single point in space creating an egg. From the egg, a primitive, hairy giant with horns on his head was born. His name was Pangu.

Being the first being, Pangu was in control in shaping a perfect world around him. With his great axe, he separated Yin and Yang to create the world. One half became crude and murky which was called earth. We are the descendants of the other half - the part thats clear and pure- Heaven.
